Intro to Sexual Breathing
Workshop and Social
Saturday, March 8, 2025
6:30-8:30PM, 2100 Fairway Drive, #10
Doors open at 6PM – Informal social to follow
What exactly is sexual breathing as opposed to any other breathing? In this workshop, we will connect our breath to our sexual center and begin to move that breath through the chakra system. By doing this, we take energy from our root and move it up through our whole system, re-integrating sexual energy into our entire bodies, and opening ourselves to bliss.
Cost: Recommended $25 (pay what you can)
Next workshop: March 15 – A Shadow Work Ritual
Intro to Sexual Breathing
Facilitated by Jim Macdonald
In week 7 of the 10-week intimacy workshop series, we return back to the breath, putting pieces of previous workshops together, where we can now go into what we call "sexual breathing."
Sexual breathing is much like other breath work; however, the process of the breathing is connected to our sexual center located in our root chakra. By coordinating our inhales and exhales with a simple muscular exercise, we can begin to move our sexual energy from the root into the rest of our bodies.
But why would we want to do this? In short, most of us have had this energy separated and kept from the rest of our body because we have been taught that it is dangerous, taboo, or isolated to the particular purpose of procreating babies. Even when we engage in the taboo act of sex, we often engage in only a superficial way because we have not integrated the sexual side of us into the rest of ourselves. Generally, we are bad at sex, but we are also not realizing the full creative and freeing energy of sexual energy in balance with everything else that makes us us (what we call the chakra system). By opening up this energy and moving it through our entire bodies, we open ourselves to blissful response.
When I have practiced this, it is not uncommon for me, even with my clothes on and without any need of touching my genitals, to reach what can only be called an orgasmic state. Even when I have not reached that heightened bliss, I have gathered important information about myself from the process.
We will breathe in a solo practice and then be able to discuss our experiences with others within our sacred space container.
The suggested price for this workshop is $25, but all of these workshops are pay what you can (even if what you can is $0).
Space for all these workshops is limited; so please RSVP to guarantee your spot.
