6:30-8:30PM, 2100 Fairway Drive, #10
Doors open at 6PM – Informal social to follow
In a non-sexual way (meaning, no nudity and no genital touching), we open ourselves with a partner or two to touching and being touched. But more than that, we get in the practice of asking for what we want and stating definitively what we do not want – both as givers and receivers of touch.
Cost: Recommended $25 (pay what you can)
Next workshop: March 1 – Chakra Wisdom Moving Meditation
Boundaries & Sacred Touch
Facilitated by Jim Macdonald and Sunshine Welsch
In week 4 of the 10-week intimacy workshop, we begin to explore the world of touch. However, what makes this more than an amateur massage session – which it certainly is – is what we are doing from an intimacy standpoint. In that respect, we are learning to communicate our desires, fears, and our boundaries not only around being touched but also similarly around touching.
In pairs or in small groups of three, we will all take turns giving and receiving touch, and just as importantly, asking for what we want and what we don't want in terms of touching and being touched. In our sacred space, we will communicate with each other how the experience was and what we liked and did not like about it. In that way, we can both remove blocks from intimacy but also encourage and discover what it is we actually like and share that with others.
Feel free to come with a partner or friend with whom you feel safe and comfortable, or come solo and test the edge of what that feels like with people who may be less familiar (that is, potentially uncomfortable) for you. Whatever experience you have, this is vital information and practice in understanding our bodies and listening to what others are telling us about theirs.
Note again that there will be no genital touching or nudity in this workshop.
The suggested price for this workshop is $25, but all of these workshops are pay what you can (even if what you can is $0).
Space for all these workshops is limited; so please RSVP to guarantee your spot.
