Next workshop: January 25 – Sex Talk
Quantum Light Breath
Facilitated by Jim Macdonald
Week 2 of the 10-week intimacy workshop takes us into one of the three keys (breath, movement, and sound) to unlocking intimacy. While we are focusing here on breath, we will, however, use all three keys. Quantum Light Breath makes use of a continuous rhythmic breath without pauses between inhale to exhale, while allowing any movement or sound to arise.
How does a solo breathwork practice aid intimacy with yourself and others? While breathwork by itself does not produce intimacy, not fully engaging with our breath in a more intentional way certainly can help prevent it. If intimacy in part involves deep seeing and knowing, might there be aspects of yourself that you cannot access because you are only accessing a small fraction of your breath? In a society where our movements and breathing are repressed and have become automatic and rote, is it any wonder that our relationships also have become automatic and rote? Changing the patterns that have blocked us from being able to be intimate allow for the opportunity to know ourselves better and open ourselves appropriately with others.
When I have done Quantum Light Breath, I have never had the same experience twice. It can lead to great emotional releases, or it can have a more subtle influence. No matter what, we are taking space for ourselves to allow for the changing of patterns.
After our breathwork practice, we will have the opportunity to share our experience with others in the container of sacred space. Note that you do not need to have attended the first workshop to attend this one or have prerequisite knowledge of sacred space. It certainly doesn't hurt, though! So, while this is a solo practice, note that this also has a group element, too. You may, therefore, want to come with a partner or friend. However, coming alone is perfectly okay, too!
The suggested price for this workshop is $25, but all of these workshops are pay what you can (even if what you can is $0).
Space for all these workshops is limited; so please RSVP to guarantee your spot.
